The first protocol was concerned with the examination of weapons. After the examination was completed, defense attorney Mkrtich Davtyan was the first to respond.

“It seems that being an expert is not a difficult thing. I could look at the weapon and say whether it is rifled or something else. There is no norm in the Criminal Procedure Code that an expert can simply record the dimensions of a rifle bullet by looking at it with his eyes. I can also say, why 12, if not 8 or 16. There are 8, 14, 16 sizes of hunting rifle bullets.

One of the defenders of the Holy Father Bagrat, Hovhannes Khudoyan, also added:

What does the study of this material give us? We see what process the examination of weapons goes through, and we must compare this with what charges are brought against the persons.

When the Investigative Committee investigates the crime of preparing a terrorist act, and in reality, if it is determined that a terrorist act has taken place and that the case needs to be solved, these weapons definitely could not have been examined in this way.

Երբ Քննչական կոմիտեն քննում է ահաբեկչության նախապատրաստման հանցակազմ, և իրականում, եթե տրամադրված է, որ տեղի է ունեցել ահաբեկչություն ու այդ գործը պետք է բացահայտել, միանշանակ այս զենքերը չէին կարող այս եղանակով զննվել։

We see that the investigator did not give any instructions that these weapons should be examined with gloves, without leaving traces and with greater caution. In other words, they did not initially have the hypothesis that these weapons could be of importance for the criminal case.

Տեսնում ենք, որ քննիչը որևէ հանձնարարություն չի տվել, որ այս զենքերը պետք է զննվեն ձեռնոցով, հետքեր չթողնելով և առավել զգուշությամբ։ Այսինքն՝ ի սկզբանե չեն ունեցել այն վարկածը, որ այս զենքերը կարող են քրեական գործի համար նշանակություն ունենալ։

But the Investigative Committee wanted to generate a political show by confiscating these weapons. That is why, periodically, during the examination of evidence, we see that actions typical of legal processes are not being taken,” said Khudoyan.

Բայց Քննչական կոմիտեն ցանկացել է այս զենքերի առգրավմամբ գեներացնել քաղաքական շոու։ Դրա համար էլ պարբերաբար, ապացույցների հետազոտման ընթացքում, տեսնում ենք, որ իրավական գործընթացներին բնորոշ գործողություններ չեն կատարվում»,– ասաց Խուդոյանը։
