1254 letters to Armenian captives: Arthak Beglaryan was required to open a box of letters near the government building

He handed over to the Armenian government the letters addressed to the Armenian prisoners of war held in Baku, which people from different countries of the world had written to the prisoners of war in Baku. According to the former Human Rights Defender of Artsakh, even if the Armenian government does not support the relatives of the captives in visiting them, it is obliged and has the opportunity to at least deliver the letters to the captives so that they feel some positive energy and know that they are not alone.

Artak Beglaryan noted that he does not believe the claims of the Armenian authorities that they are making efforts to return the captives. Beglaryan emphasized the personal targeting of the tortured captives in the public sphere, up to the level of the Prime Minister, which, according to him, proves that the authorities are not interested and are not interested in the return of at least some of the captives. “However, this does not mean that it is impossible to return the captives. It is possible if there is sufficient public and international pressure on the Armenian authorities and those actors who can influence Aliyev’s decision,” the head of the “Artsakh” Union noted.

Արտակ Բեգլարյանը նշեց, որ իր համար հավաստի չեն ՀՀ իշխանությունների այն պնդումները, թե իբր ջանքեր են գործադրում գերիներին վերադարձնելու համար: Բեգլարյանն ընդգծեց հանրային տիրույթում՝ ընդհուպ վարչապետի մակարդակով, խոշտանգվող գերիներին անձնապես թիրախավորելը, ինչը, նրա խոսքով փաստում է, որ իշխանությունը հետաքրքրված չէ եւ շահագրգիռ չէ գերիների առնվազն մի մասի վերադարձով: «Սակայն, դա չի նշանակում, որ հնարավոր չէ գերիներին վերադարձնել: Հնարավոր է, եթե բավարար հանրային և միջազգային ճնշում լինի ՀՀ իշխանությունների և այն դերակատարների վրա, որոնք կարող են ազդեցություն ունենալ Ալիևի որոշման վրա»,- նշեց «Արցախ» միության» ղեկավարը:
