In recent months, amid a significant increase in international fuel exchange prices, fuel prices have also increased in the Republic of Armenia. Ani Smbatyan, the spokesperson for the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, told Factor.am that the fuel circulation sector is always in the focus of the commission’s attention.

“The commission receives and analyzes information on the current situation in the fuel market from relevant state bodies and economic entities operating in the sector on a monthly basis, including on fuel stockpiles, import prices and volumes, cost price and sales prices,” Smbatyan said.

Let us recall that fuel prices have increased significantly in Armenia in recent weeks. The price of premium gasoline at some gas stations has exceeded the threshold of 620 drams, and the price of regular gasoline has exceeded 600 drams. This is despite the fact that months ago the premium type was sold for 430-450 drams, not even crossing the threshold of 500 drams. Supply disruptions and geopolitical tensions continue to affect the prices of oil and petroleum products in the international market.
