According to a statement from the Armenian government, the parties emphasized the “historic significance” of the peace summit held in Washington on August 8, 2025, the joint declaration signed by Pashinyan and Aliyev in the presence of US President Donald Trump, and the signing of the Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Según el comunicado del gobierno armenio, las partes destacaron “la importancia histórica” de la cumbre de paz celebrada en Washington el 8 de agosto de 2025, la declaración conjunta firmada por Pashinyan y Aliyev en presencia del presidente estadounidense Donald Trump y la rubricación del Acuerdo sobre el Establecimiento de la Paz y las Relaciones Interestatales entre Armenia y Azerbaiyán.

The meeting took place during their participation in the SCO+ summit in Bishkek. According to the information released, the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides issued identical statements regarding the meeting.

La reunión tuvo lugar durante la participación de ambos en la cumbre OCS+ en Bishkek. De acuerdo con la información difundida, las partes armenia y azerbaiyana emitieron comunicados idénticos sobre el encuentro.

“The export of Azerbaijani petroleum products to Armenia, the transit of grain and other goods from third countries through Azerbaijani territory to Armenia, as well as the establishment of trade relations between the two countries, were highlighted as important practical manifestations of the strengthening of peace,” the statement noted.

“La exportación de productos petrolíferos azerbaiyanos a Armenia, el tránsito de cereales y otras mercancías procedentes de terceros países a través del territorio de Azerbaiyán hacia Armenia, así como el establecimiento de relaciones comerciales entre ambos países, fueron destacados como importantes manifestaciones prácticas del fortalecimiento de la paz”, señaló el comunicado.

Both leaders “welcomed the contacts between the business communities” and exchanged views on the possibility of expanding economic, trade, and energy cooperation.

Ambos “acogieron con beneplácito los contactos entre las comunidades empresariales” e intercambiaron opiniones sobre la posibilidad de ampliar la cooperación económica, comercial y energética.

Pashinyan and Aliyev also emphasized the role of the state commissions responsible for demarcating the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Pashinyan y Aliyev destacaron además el rol de las comisiones estatales encargadas de la demarcación de la frontera entre Armenia y Azerbaiyán.

“The parties stressed the important role of the relevant state commissions in demarcating the state border between Armenia and Azerbaijan and underscored the importance of their continuing their work in accordance with the agreements reached between the two countries,” the statement said.

“Las partes destacaron el importante papel de las comisiones estatales pertinentes en la demarcación de la frontera estatal entre Armenia y Azerbaiyán y subrayaron la importancia de que continúen su labor de conformidad con los acuerdos alcanzados entre los dos países”, indicó el comunicado.

Another key topic was the implementation of the TRIPP, presented as one of the outcomes of the Washington Peace Summit. The leaders discussed “further practical measures” related to the initiative and emphasized the importance of the connectivity projects planned within that framework.

Otro de los temas centrales fue la implementación del TRIPP, presentado como uno de los resultados de la Cumbre de Paz de Washington. Los líderes debatieron “otras medidas prácticas” vinculadas con la iniciativa y remarcaron la importancia de los proyectos de conectividad previstos en ese marco.

The statement also mentioned contacts aimed at strengthening trust between parliamentarians and representatives of civil society.

El comunicado también mencionó contactos destinados a fortalecer la confianza entre parlamentarios y representantes de la sociedad civil.

“The leaders welcomed the contacts aimed at building trust between parliamentarians and representatives of civil society, emphasizing their importance in strengthening mutual trust and supporting the broader peace agenda,” the Armenian government stated.

“Los líderes acogieron con satisfacción los contactos para fomentar la confianza entre parlamentarios y representantes de la sociedad civil, destacando su importancia para fortalecer la confianza mutua y apoyar la agenda de paz más amplia”, expresó el gobierno armenio.

“Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Ilham Aliyev agreed to continue measures aimed at strengthening lasting peace, normalizing interstate relations, and enhancing connectivity through direct bilateral contact,” the statement concluded.

“El primer ministro Nikol Pashinyan y el presidente Ilham Aliyev acordaron continuar con las medidas destinadas a fortalecer la paz duradera, normalizar las relaciones interestatales y reforzar la conectividad mediante el contacto bilateral directo”, concluyó el comunicado.

The Armenian government released a short video of the meeting. The video showed the presence of the Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Mher Grigoryan and Shahin Mustafayev; the Foreign Ministers, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov; the Secretary of the Armenian Security Council, Alen Simonyan; and the Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Azerbaijan, Hikmet Hajiyev.
