The Iranian parliament has drafted a bill to withdraw from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Fars news agency reports that this was announced by the deputy speaker of the Iranian parliament, Ali Nikzad.

According to him, the initiative is currently under study, including in terms of assessing its international consequences. The deputy speaker added that the document will be presented to the plenary session as an urgent matter, which will require lawmakers to discuss it on the same day.

Nikzad recalled that Iran stopped cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in September 2025. He noted that Iran does not trust IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, since the latter conducts superficial inspections, "says words of praise, but after leaving, publishes a negative report against Iran."
