The current number of personnel is set at 2,441,630 people, including 1,550,500 servicemen. The decree came into force on September 28, the day it was signed.

This is the fourth increase in the number of personnel in the Russian army in the past seven months; the previous ones took place in March, June and July. As a result of all four increases, a total of 52,500 people were added to the army’s staff, of which 50,500 were servicemen.
