The history of the organized Armenian community in Rosario began with the creation of Hai Getron, founded by a group of Armenians who sought to establish a meeting place and preserve their community identity in the city. From its inception, the institution has aimed to unite its members regardless of their political affiliations and has become, over the years, a venue for meetings, family celebrations, weddings, baptisms, birthdays, and various social and cultural activities.
Seventy-five years after its founding, the current Board of Directors hopes the anniversary will also be an opportunity to bring together Armenians from across Argentina and renew intergenerational bonds.
“Nor Fest and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Armenian Center of Rosario are milestones we want to share with friends and family, just as our ancestors taught us,” said Anabela Avedisian, president of the Armenian Community of Rosario.
The organization defined this anniversary as a meeting point between the history built by those who arrived and put down roots in Rosario and the new generations who continue to sustain community life. In that sense, they summarized this journey with an image that unites both heritages: “a bridge between Mount Ararat and the Paraná River.”
