Exports from Armenia to China fell by more than 30% in 2025, declining from $1.0975 billion to $763.6 million, as the sides discussed expanding trade ties, Auroranews.am reports. Armenia and China discussed opportunities to increase bilateral trade volumes and boost exports of Armenian goods to the Chinese market. The issues were raised during a meeting between Deputy Minister Vahan Kostanyan and Lou Qinjian, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress and head of the China-Armenia friendship group, the Armenian Foreign Ministry reports. The sides addressed a broad range of issues on the bilateral agenda. They also discussed further developing cooperation in areas outlined in the joint statement on strategic partnership between Armenia and China. During the meeting, the importance of interparliamentary cooperation was emphasized, along with the need to increase trade volumes between the two countries. China remains Armenia’s second-largest trading partner, accounting for 12.3% of the country’s total foreign trade. Trade turnover between Armenia and China amounted to $2.641 billion in 2025, declining by 6.5% over the year.
