Congratulatory message of the Armenian Diocese of Isfahan on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia

However, the path to independence has not been easy for us and has gone through difficult trials. Wars, human losses, the loss of Artsakh, and the pain of thousands of our compatriots deprived of their homeland have become the heaviest pages of our modern history.

Սակայն անկախութեան ճանապարհը մեզ համար հեշտ չի եղել եւ անցել է ծանր փորձութիւնների միջով: Պատերազմները, մարդկային կորուստները, Արցախի կորուստը եւ հայրենազրկւած մեր հազարաւոր հայրենակիցների ցաւը դարձել են մեր նորագոյն պատմութեան ամենածանր էջերը:

Today, as a result of the authorities’ anti-national and short-sighted policy, and why not also under the open threats of Turkey and Azerbaijan, Armenia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are under serious danger.

Այսօր իշխանութիւնների ապազգային եւ ոչ հեռատես քաղաքականութեան արդիւնքում, ինչու չէ նաեւ Թուրքիայի եւ Ադրբեջանի բացայայտ սպառնալիքների ներքոյ Հայաստանի ինքնիշխանութիւնը եւ տարածքային ամբողջականութիւնը լուրջ վտանգների է ենթարկւում:

Unfortunately, we are also witnessing how they are currently trying to promote the ideology of the so-called “Real Armenia” to our people. An ideology that attempts to limit the perception of our homeland within the borders of the current Republic and gradually push the idea of historical Armenia out of the national consciousness.

Ցաւօք, նաեւ ականատես ենք, թէ ներկայիս ինչպէս են փորձում այսպէս կոչւած «Իրական Հայաստան»-ի գաղափարախօսութիւնը հրամցնել մեր ժողովրդին: Գաղափարախօսութիւն, որը փորձում է մեր հայրենիքի ընկալումը ներկայ Հանրապետութեան սահմանների մէջ սահմանափակել եւ պատմական Հայաստանի գաղափարը աստիճանաբար դուրս մղել ազգային գիտակցութիւնից:

We cannot accept that false opposition, as a result of which the loss of Artsakh, the memory of the historical homeland and national claims turn into undesirable topics. A strong Armenia is not built by denying its own past.

Մենք չենք կարող ընդունել այդ կեղծ հակադրութիւնը, որի հետեւանքով Արցախի կորուստը, պատմական հայրենիքի յիշողութիւնը եւ ազգային պահանջատիրութիւնը վերածւեն անցանկալի թեմաների: Ուժեղ Հայաստանը չի կառուցւում սեփական անցեալը մերժելով:

Let this Independence Day be for us not only a holiday, but also a reminder of duty. We are obliged to pass on to our generations not only an independent state, but also an Armenia living with national dignity, historical memory and faith in the future.

Վերանկախացման այս օրը թող մեզ համար լինի ոչ միայն տօն, այլեւ պարտքի յիշեցում: Մենք պարտաւոր ենք մեր սերունդներին փոխանցել ոչ միայն անկախ պետութիւն, այլեւ ազգային արժանապատւութեամբ, պատմական յիշողութեամբ եւ ապագայի հանդէպ հաւատով ապրող Հայաստան:

Glory to the heroes who sacrificed their lives for our homeland, and bow to their memory. May their dedication be for us a message of strength, unity and patriotism.

Փա՛ռք մեր հայրենիքի համար իրենց կեանքը զոհաբերած հերոսներին, խոնարհում՝ նրանց յիշատակին: Թող նրանց նւիրումը մեզ համար լինի ուժի, միասնութեան եւ հայրենասիրութեան պատգամ:

Կեցցէ՛ անկախ Հայաստանը,

Long live the Armenian people.
