The Republic of Armenia celebrates the 35th anniversary of independence

On September 21, all Armenians celebrate the Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia. The Declaration of Independence of Armenia was adopted on August 23, 1990, at a session of the Supreme Council.

Սեպտեմբերի 21-ին համայն հայությունը նշում է Հայաստանի Հանրապետության Անկախության օրը: Հայաստանի Անկախության հռչակագիրն ընդունվել է 1990թ. օգոստոսի 23-ին` Գերագույն Խորհրդի նիստում:

35 years ago, on September 21, 1991, a referendum was held in Armenia on the issue of secession from the USSR, in which 94.39% of the 2,056,758 citizens eligible to participate said “yes” to independence. On September 23, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Armenia, summarizing the results of the referendum, declared the Republic of Armenia an independent state.

35 տարի առաջ՝ 1991թ. սեպտեմբերի 21-ին Հայաստանի տարածքում անցկացվեց ԽՍՀՄ-ից դուրս գալու հարցով հանրաքվե, որին մասնակցելու իրավունք ունեցող 2,056,758 քաղաքացիների 94.39%-ն «այո» ասաց անկախությանը։ Սեպտեմբերի 23-ին ՀՀ Գերագույն խորհուրդը, ամփոփելով հանրաքվեի արդյունքները, Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը հռչակեց անկախ պետություն:
