French President Emmanuel Macron has said that the archipelago of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon in the Atlantic Ocean will remain French territory, despite a map released by US President Donald Trump showing it as American territory.

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced that the archipelago of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon (French: Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon) in the Atlantic Ocean will remain French territory, despite a map published by US President Donald Trump showing it as American territory.

“It is clear to us that it is French territory… we are committed to it, there is nothing to discuss here,” said Macron, who is visiting the archipelago from September 19 to 21.

Earlier, Trump published a map on the social network Truth Social, on which dozens of countries were painted in the colors of the US flag. Among them were Cuba, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean countries, as well as French overseas territories.
