In recent days, the presentation of the documentary film “Voices of the Artsakh Media” by Ani Mangasaryan took place in Yerevan. The film presents the biographies and activities of the three state media outlets of the information field of the Republic of Artsakh: Artsakh Public Radio, “Azat Artsakh” newspaper, and Artsakh Public Television, from the days of the Artsakh liberation movement to the end of the Armenian exodus from Artsakh. The film is directed by Hrayr Avetisyan, cinematographer: Tigran Gasparyan, English translation: Ani Mezhlumyan.

As a former editor of “Horizon”, I have collaborated with the media, journalists and editors of Artsakh for 25 years, and during a series of episodes of this documentary, I mentally returned to Free and Independent Artsakh.

Որպէս «Հորիզոն»-ի նախկին խմբագիր, 25 տարի համագործակցած եմ Արցախի լրատւամիջոցներու, լրագրողներու եւ խմբագիրներու հետ ու այս վաւերագրականի շարք մը դրւագներու ընթացքին՝ մտովի վերադարձ էր Ազատ ու Անկախ Արցախ։

This documentary skillfully combines the elements of documentary structure and the sequence of historical events.

Վաւերագրական այս ժապաւէնը հմտօրէն կը շաղկապէ փաստագրական յօրինւածքի տարրերն ու պատմական դէպքերու շարակարգութիւնը։

The film, like a balanced composition, is spread in front of the audience in chronological order, where episodes of Artsakh’s modern history are presented, the speaking witnesses of which are the journalists from Artsakh, those journalists who did not spare their lives even in the midst of the war.

Ֆիլմը՝ չափակշռութաւոր համանւագի նման, ժամանակագրական կարգով, կը սփռւի հանդիսատեսին դիմաց, ուր կը տողանցեն Արցախի նորագոյն պատմութեան դրւագները, որոնց խօսուն վկաները՝ արցախցի լրագրողներն են, այն լրագրողները, որոնք պատերազմի յորձանուտին մէջ իսկ չեն խնայած իրենց կեանքը։

In these difficult and difficult days for the Armenians of Artsakh, it is a matter of courage to conceive and direct such a documentary. That courage was possessed by journalist and broadcaster Ani Mangasaryan, a native of the village of Vaghuhas in Artsakh, and in this film she tells about the selflessness and dedication of her colleagues over the decades.

Արցախի հայութեան դժւարին ու դժնդակ այս օրերուն, խիզախութիւն է նման վաւերագրական ֆիլմի գաղափար յղանալն ու բեմադրելը։ Այդ խիզախութիւնը ունեցած է Արցախի Վաղուհաս գիւղի զաւակ՝ լրագրող եւ հաղորդավար Անի Մանկասարեանը եւ այս ֆիլմով կը պատմէ իր գործընկերներու տասնամեակներու վրայ թաւալող անձնուրացութեան ու նւիրումին մասին։

The film has a unique storytelling style. Based on interviews with journalists and editors, the film’s structural narrative is built and the dialogue creates moments of dialogue. Loss, grief, and genocide are bridged to historical memory.

Շարժանկարը ունի իւրայատուկ պատմելաոճ. լրագրողներու եւ խմբագիրներու հետ հարցազրոյցներու վրայ հիմնւած՝ կը կերտւի ֆիլմի Կառուցւածքային պատումը եւ տրամախօսութեան հաղորդակից պահեր կը ստեղծէ։ Պատմական յիշողութեան կը կամրջուին կորուստը, կսկիծն ու եղեռնագործութիւնը։

Over the years, the Artsakh media had collected a huge archive, documentary evidence, the repository of which was a source of historical evidence. The film also tells about the fate of that archive. Part of the archive is saved through superhuman efforts, and part is forcibly burned….

Արցախի մեդիան տարիներու ընթացքին հաւաքագրած էր վիթխարի արխիւ, փաստագրական վկայութիւններ, որոնց շտեմարանը պատմական վկայութեանց աղբիւր էին։ Ժապաւէնին մէջ կը պատմւի նաեւ այդ արխիւի ճակատագրին մասին։ Արխիւէն մաս մը գերմարդկային ճիգերով կը փրկւի, իսկ որոշ մաս մը հարկադրաբար կը հրկիզւի…։

The film also reflects the psychological state of an entire people subjected to forced displacement and oppression, outlined through the testimonies of journalists after the victorious struggle for survival and liberation of Artsakh. The testimony is the story of an Artsakh journalist who, having left the profession of journalism, goes to the front as a volunteer during the Artsakh liberation battles, and when his colleague asks when he will return to the editorial office, the answer is clear and resounding, “When the war ends”….

ֆիլմը կարտացոլացնէ նաեւ Արցախի յաղթական գոյապայքարէն ու ազատագրումէն ետք, լրագրողներու վկայութիւններուն ընդմէջէն ուրւագծւող բռնագաղթի ենթարկւած ու բռնադատւած ամբողջ ժողովուրդի մը հոգեվիճակի յետագիծը։ Վկայութիւնն է, այն արցախցի լրագրողի պատմութեան, որ լրագրութեան մասնագիտութիւնը մէկ կողմ թողած, արցախեան ազատագրական մարտերու ընթացքին, որպէս կամաւոր կը մեկնի ռազմաճակատ, եւ երբ գործընկերը հարց կու տայ թէ ե՞րբ պիտի վերադառնայ խմբագրատուն՝ պատասխանը յստակ է եւ հնչեղ, «Երբ պատերազմը աւարտի»…։

Today, when the face of Artsakh’s Armenian identity is being distorted and destroyed day by day, when the spiritual structures and historical and cultural monuments of the Armenian people are being destroyed in the depths of Artsakh, this documentary film comes to remind us that the guardians of Artsakh’s centuries-old national identity have also been Artsakh journalists. The journalists of Artsakh have been faithful to their calling, have selflessly fulfilled their mission, have fully accomplished the recording of war crimes, devastation and human stories, the professional analysis of the political situation, and the documentation of military events on the frontline hot spots.

Այսօր, երբ, օր ցերեկով կայլանդակւի ու եղծման կենթարկւի Արցախի հայկականութեան դիմագիծը, երբ Արցախի ընդերքին մէջ կը քանդւին հայութեան հոգեւոր կառոյցներն ու պատմամշակութային կոթողները, փաստավաւերագրական այս ֆիլմը կու գայ յուշելու, որ Արցախի դարաւոր ազգային դիմագիծի պահապանները եղած են նաեւ արցախցի լրագրողները։ Արցախի լրագրողները հաւատարիմ իրենց կոչումին, անձնւիրութեամբ իրագործած են իրենց առաքելութիւնը, լիովին կատարած են պատերազմական յանցագործութիւններու, աւերածութիւններու եւ մարդկային պատմութիւններու արձանագրումը, քաղաքական իրավիճակի մասնագիտական վերլուծութիւնը, առաջնագծի թէժ կէտերուն վրայ ռազմական իրադարձութիւններու փաստագրումը։

The following words about recovering and creating from the devastated situation and the ashes of defeat were spoken by Nelson Mandela, the human rights defender and President of South Africa, who was imprisoned for 27 years: “Honor belongs to those who never give up on the truth, even when the situation seems bleak and hopeless, those who constantly try, again and again, and are never discouraged by insults, humiliations, and even defeat.” The Artsakh Public Television Company has chosen that path today, not to give up on the truth and continue its mission.

Զգետնւած վիճակէն ու պարտութեան թմբիրէն վերականգնելու ու արարելու մասին հետեւեալ խօսքը ըսած է 27 տարի բանտարկւած, մարդկային իրաւանց պաշտպան, Հարաւային Աֆրիկէի նախագահ Նելսոն Մանդելան. «Պատիւը կը պատկանի անոնց, որոնք երբեք չեն հրաժարիր ճշմարտութենէն՝ նոյնիսկ երբ իրավիճակը մռայլ ու անյուսալի կը թւի, անոնք որոնք անընդհատ, վերստին ու վերստին կը փորձեն եւ երբեք չեն ընկճւիր վիրաւորանքներէն, նւաստացումներէն ու նոյնիսկ պարտութենէն»։ Արցախի Հանրային Հեռուստաընկերութիւնը այսօր ընտրած է այդ ճանապարհը, չհրաժարիլ ճշմարտութենէն եւ շարունակել առաքելութիւնը։

“Voices of the Artsakh Media” by the author of the documentary Ani Mangasaryan is the story of those journalistic witnesses who did not hesitate in the moment of despair to ring out the call of hope for Artsakh and compose a new song… The song of Artsakh, the song of return….

Վաւերագրականի հեղինակ Անի Մանկասարեանի «Արցախի մեդիայի ձայները» պատմութիւնն է այն լրագրող վկայախօսներուն, որոնք չվարանեցան յուսաբեկութեան ակնթարթին՝ Արցախի յոյսի կոչնակները ղօղանջել ու նոր երգ յօրինել… Արցախի երգը, վերադարձի երգը…։
