Criminal proceedings have been initiated in Hrazdan following a report of police torturing a citizen.

“Immediately after the publication, an internal investigation was appointed in the Internal Security and Anti-Corruption Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which we have informed the public about.

Այնուհետև, Քննչական կոմիտեում նախաձեռնվել է նաև քրեական վարույթ։ Հայաստանի Հանրապետությունը իրավական պետություն է, և խնդիրը հանգուցալուծվում է բացառապես իրավական ընթացակարգերով։ Ոստիկանության համակարգում առերևույթ նման դրվագները բացառիկ են և յուրաքանչյուր ահազանգ ստանում է պատշաճ իրավական գնահատական և ընթացք: Նման դեպքերում որևէ դրսևորում չի կարող անտեսվել կամ մնալ անհետևանք։»,- գրել է Սարգսյանը:

Narek Sargsyan added that the final assessment of the case will be given based on the results of the ongoing investigations.

Citizen Khazhak Tovmasyan told Factor TV that on September 11, on the Hrazdan-Hankavan highway, near the village of Aghavnadzor, about 10-15 police officers in 7-8 cars blocked the path of his car, took him out of the car, threw him to the ground, and beat him.
