On September 17, at 12:17 local time (08:17 GMT), the seismological network of the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs recorded an earthquake of magnitude 2.8 with a depth of 10 km, 3 km southeast of the village of Shoghakat, Armenia, at geographical coordinates 40.48⁰ north latitude and 45.28⁰ east longitude.

Սեպտեմբերի 17-ին՝ տեղական ժամանակով ժամը 12:17-ին (Գրինվիչի ժամանակով` ժամը 08։17-ին) ՀՀ ՆԳՆ Սեյսմիկ պաշտպանության տարածքային ծառայության սեյսմոլոգիական ցանցի կողմից գրանցվել է հյուսիսային լայնության 40.48⁰ և արևելյան երկայնության 45.28⁰ աշխարհագրական կոորդինատներով Հայաստան՝ Շողակաթ գյուղից 3 կմ հարավ-արևելք, օջախի 10 կմ խորությամբ 2․8 մագնիտուդով երկրաշարժ:

Էպիկենտրոնային գոտում ստորգետնյա ցնցման ուժգնությունը կազմել է 3-4 բալ:

The earthquake was felt in the villages of Shoghakat, Artanish, Drakhtik and Jil of the Gegharkunik region with a magnitude of 3-4 points.

Երկրաշարժը զգացվել է Գեղարքունիքի մարզի՝ Շողակաթ, Արտանիշ, Դրախտիկ և Ջիլ գյուղերում՝ 3-4 բալ ուժգնությամբ։
